Akufo-Addo Is Visionary: Ashanti Chief

The Paramount Chief of Abeserewa in the Ahafo Ano South constituency of the Ashanti region, Subin Kankam Amando II, has stressed the importance of education, defending strongly Nana Akufo-Addo’s free senior high school policy.

The chief, who was welcoming the New Patriotic Party presidential candidate and his entourage to his community on Friday, used the opportunity to convey to the people how impressed he is with Nana Addo’s commitment to ensuring that majority of the population will be educated.

“It takes visionary leadership to be able to make education a priority and I will entreat all who are seeking to lead our country to speak the kind of language that Nana Akufo-Addo is speaking”, he said.

Stressing the point, Nana Amando said “the President, HE John Mahama and a whole lot of other people have made it in life because they got the opportunity to attend senior high school for free.

“Education is a much needed ingredient in the development and transformation of a country and its people and I urge all of you to support any policy that will help educate our children.”

Nana Addo on his part thanked Nana Amando for declaring support for his free education policy.

He said the people of Abeserewa are blessed to have a chief who has the welfare of the Ghanaian people at heart.

The NPP leader questioned why a president who has benefited from the free education policy will now oppose it when the masses are calling for it.

He condemned strongly the language that “Ghana cannot afford free education” adding “we will spend on education because it is our party’s priority.

“If the NDC can find money pay dubious judgement debts to their cronies, why can’t we find the money to educate our children?”

Nana Addo assured the people that the NPP will provide free SHS, to ensure children have access to free quality education.
