Fanteakwa DCE wins primaries

Mr. Abass Sbaabe Fuseini, District Chief Executive of Fanteakwa, has been elected as parliamentary candidate for the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the yet-to-be legitimized Fanteakwa North Constituency in the Eastern Region.

Mr. Sbaabe Fuseini romped home with 323 votes to record a landslide victory as against 171 polled by Kwame Darkwa Odame, on Monday. In all, three rejected ballots were recorded.

The election, which was generally peaceful, was graced by some bigwigs of the party including the National Coordinator of National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) and National First Vice Chairman of the NDC, Mr. Kofi Portuphy and Eastern Regional Secretary, Mr. M.M Doe.

Mr. Sbaabe in an address told jubilant supporters that he was prepared to work tirelessly to ensure that the party wins the seat to increase its numbers in Parliament.

He, however, urged the rank and file of the party to remain committed and support President John Dramani Mahama for the NDC to record a convincing win in the presidential elections in December.
