Vote for female candidates in the coming elections – Madam Doccuvi

An aspiring independent parliamentary candidate for Suhum Constituency in the Eastern Region, Madam Matilda Akosua Doccuvi, has appealed to the people to vote massively for female aspirants in the coming elections.

She said the time has come for the people in the Suhum Constituency to have a female Member of Parliament as the male candidates had disappointed them.

Madam Doccuvi, popularly call Matisco, a 50 year-old chemical seller and also a board member of the Suhum Government Hospital, said since the introduction of party politics in 1992, Suhum constituency has had five Members of Parliament, two from National Democratic Congress (NDC) and three from the New Patriotic Party (NPP), but still Suhum and surrounding communities lacked many social amenities with high rate of poverty.

Madam Doccuvi said this when she presented a number of bags of cement worth GH?4,000 to the people of Suhum Gariba Zongo towards the rehabilitation of Suranzy water reservoir which was abandoned 15 years ago.

She also donated a number of cement and sand worth GH? 270 to the people of Ayisikrom towards the renovation of the local primary school.

Madam Doccuvi who toured a number of villages also donated nine big size poly tank value at GH?300 to the people of “My Name”, a farming community near Akorabo towards the renovation of a dilapidated school.

She said when voted to power, she is coming on board with new pro-poor socio-economic development programmes that would put money into the pockets of the poor.**
