Anglican priest calls for respect from politicians

Saint Barnabas Anglican Church at Nkoranza has organised a thanksgiving service in honour of Venerable Emmanuel Atta Kakra Mensah, in charge of the church, to commemorate his 25th diaconate ordination.

The Rev. Fr (Dr.) Joe Eyison, Anglican priest and head of the dental clinic at Kintampo Hospital, in a sermon urged persons in leadership positions to serve the people and not to lord over them.

He deplored the practice by some leaders who look down on their subordinates, saying “it is through the blessings of God that one becomes wealthy, hence every leader should humble himself/herself and respect other people”.

Rev. Fr (Dr) Eyison appealed to politicians that since it is the electorate who elect them, they should promote their interest when they are in office. **
