Ghanaian Gets Top Position In CNN

Accra, July 2, Mr. Edward Boateng, Turner Broadcasting Systems (TBS) Limited Regional Sales Manager for Africa, has been promoted to Regional Director of Turner Broadcasting System Europe Distribution. A statement issued in Accra by the CNN International Public Relations, London, said Mr. Boateng will be responsible for the distribution of Turner Networks in Africa. Mr. Boateng has been with the TBS since 1992. He joined Turner International in Atlanta as an accounts executive and was relocated to the London office in 1993. Over the last four years, he has overseen the distribution of CNN International, TNT and Cartoon Network in 52 African countries, earning him the Turner International ‘Sales Person of the Year’ Award in 1994. The statement said Mr. Boateng launched the African Journalist Award in 1995 to recognize, promote and develop the level of journalism on the continent. He currently serves as an executive board member of the African Business Roundtable, the African Journalist Foundation and Kumasi Asante Kotoko Football Club. Mr. Boateng holds an MBA from Clarke-Atlanta University and was one of the 48 distinguished business people chosen by the Yale School of Management from around the world to participate in a leadership development seminar at Yale University in 1995.
