Brotherhood Church ends Zonal Convention

The Brotherhood Church has ended a four-day Easter Zonal Convention at Asante-Mampong with a plea to political parties and their supporters to be tolerant of one another.

Primate Seth K. Adofo, the Spiritual Head, said all should act responsibly to deepen the nation’s multi-party democracy and sustain its unity and cohesion.

He said political differences should not be allowed to undermine the peace and hold back the progress of the people, and described as ‘disturbing the current antagonistic postures, vulgar language and vilification of political opponents.’

Primate Adofo, urged the leadership of the parties to rein in their followers and to publicly denounce unsavory pronouncements.

He counseled Christians not to allow their political affiliation and leanings to negatively affect their religious duties and relations with God, adding that, they should help to calm tension and assist people to smooth over their differences.

Mr Daniel Appau-Ohyeamang, the Mampong Municipal Chief Executive, appealed to Christians to pray for God’s continued blessing for the country.

He said they should also actively participate in the on-going biometric voter registration, saying, the Municipal Security Committee had put in place adequate measures to make registration peaceful.

Mr Francis Addai Nimo, the Member of Parliament, appealed to the people to refrain from any acts that could mar the electoral process.**
