Nkosohemaa of Apedwa donates to senior citizens

Nana Aboagyewa Atuahene, Nkosohemaa of Apedwa, has organized a pre-Easter party for senior citizens of the town and presented them with gifts.

The senior citizens aged 70 years and above, were presented with pieces of cloth, food and drinks.

She said a scholarship scheme was initially established at Apedwa for the benefit of needy but brilliant students who completed Junior High School (JHS) to enable them to enter the Senior High School (SHS), especially girls.

Nana Atuahene said female education was very important in every country and that she would continue to support and encourage female education as it was critical for a nation’s development.

She said a soft credit scheme was also in the pipeline to help rural market women and Small and Medium Enterprises (SME’s) to finance their businesses.

Nana Pobee Asomaning Darko, Ankobeahene of Akyem Nkronso, expressed the hope that Nana Aboagyewa Atuahene’s gesture would inspire others to support their people, especially women.

Mrs Comfort Boadi, thanked the Nkosohemaa on behalf of the senior citizens.**
