Ketu-South requires an articulate Member of Parliament-Fifi Kwetey

Mr Fifi Kwetey, Deputy Minister of Finance and Economic Planning has noted that in view of the numerous challenges facing Ketu-South, it requires a vibrant Member of Parliament (MP) with the capacity to speak and lobby.

He said the people of the area must be clear in their minds regarding the type of leader to advance their development.

Mr Kwetey was speaking to the press in Denu, when he filed his nomination to contest the delayed Ketu-South parliamentary primaries of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He is in the race with seven others including the incumbent two-term MP, Mr Albert Zigah, Raphael Alorwu, Brong Ahafo Regional National Service Coordinator and Nelson Agbagedi, a Tutor.

The others are Elizabeth Kuenyefu, Teacher, Nicholas Waklatsi, Teacher, Kafui Nyasogbor, Teacher and Frederick Alipui, Economist.

Mr Kwetey said he had a lot to contribute to the area’s development compared to the others in view of his stature as a former NDC Propaganda Secretary and his current post, which places him in the inner circle of both the party and the government.

He said, educational capacity development remained the best way to propel the short and long term socio-economic development of Aflao and the entire Ketu-South.

Mr Kwetey said the youth required some transformation of their mind set and building of capacities and skills to take up the challenge of the area’s development.

He said,, these are the areas he would work on ardently when he gets the nod as MP.

Mr Kwetey said despite the inability of government to grant Aflao the municipal status, he would have wished the door is not entirely closed on the subject as the Executive can reopen it anytime sooner.

He advised party supporters to rally behind the NDC, saying no matter the perception and feeling, the NDC is still the party of choice in the area.**
