GIL matriculates 337 new students

Kumasi, Dec 27, GNA – The Ghana Institute of Languages (GIL) has officially matriculated 337 new students with a call on them to uphold the values of discipline and hard work.

Dr Amusu Gadekpo, the Director of the Institute, said it should not be lost on them that discipline and hard work was the path to success.

He said they should be focused and have clear understanding of why they have been invited to join the school.

He advised them to stay away from any bad conduct that was likely to bring them into conflict with the law.

Mr Kwesi Quainoo, Ashanti Regional Director of the National Service Scheme (NSS), reminded them that education whether formal or informal is meant to promote the development of both the individual and the nation.

He said it was thus important to combine academic excellence with good character training.

He appealed to the students to make the maximum use of the opportunity and to carry themselves well to project a good image of the Institute.
