Ketu-South Assembly gives to the physically challenged

Denu, Sept 12, GNA – The Ketu-South District Assembly has disbursed Ghc 22,194 from its Disability Fund to the physically challenged and associations in the area.

The Cross-Disability People’s Association at Srohume-Agbozume received Ghc 7,740 while Matilda Atamah and other disabled students received Ghc 1,528.70 each to cover their educational expenses.

Mr Bernard Amarble, District Chief Executive, handing over cheques for the monies to recipients at Denu, said the gesture was aimed at taking the disabled (beggars) out of the streets.

He appealed to the disabled to let the Assembly know their concerns. Mr Trinity Yevoo, Director of the Ketu-South District Department of Social Welfare, appealed to parents of the recipients to consider the Assembly’s support as supplementary.

They should not stop seeking the welfare of their children because of the Assembly’s assistance.

Mr Emmanuel Dokunor, a disabled, who received Ghc 1600 to expand his farm, said he would work hard and increase his crop yield to justify the support.
