Mr Opoku Afriyie, Ashanti Regional GAST Chairman, said, the present situation, where students and teachers have to contend with voluminous and detailed topics in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agricultural Science, and Information, Communications and Technology (ICT), was not the best.

He called on the Ghana Education Service to reform its policies to simplify the studying of integrated science, to enable students to have better grasp of the subject.

Mr Afriyie pledged that science teachers, laboratory technicians and ICT teachers would work hard to promote science and technology education.

He appealed to the authorities to support science teachers and other stakeholders and equip science laboratories to enhance the teaching of science.

Mr Afriyie said the GAST has planned to embark on tree-planting and clean-up exercises, health and sanitation campaigns as part of activities marking the science week celebrations of the group.
