Kwesi Nyarko (E/R), June 25, GNA – Nana Opoku Efi Nyarko VI, Chief of Kwesi Nyarko near Adeiso in the West Akim District, has commended the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), for donating building materials, blankets and other items to rain storm victims.
The chief said last month a rain storm hit the town, destroying about 129 houses and properties, injuring three persons and rendering some people homeless.
He appealed to individuals, NADMO and other organisations for more assistance towards the rehabilitation of the victims.
Nana Todjoro I, Queen mother of the Ewe community in Kwesi Nyarko, called on the people to initiate self-help projects and to undertake communal labour to keep the town clean.
