Flour Mills Depot keeper remanded for stealing

Takoradi, June 2, GNA 97 A 41-year-old depot keeper at the Takoradi Flour Mills was on Thursday remanded for stealing GHc87,739.56 from the company. His plea was not taken and would re-appear on June 17. Inspector Ben Annor told a Takoradi Circuit court presided over by Mr. Kwasi Boakye that on April 2, the accused started his annual leave and handed over the duty of the depot to another employee.

A few days later, many customers of the company started calling on management

for supply of their outstanding products which they claimed they had paid for in

advance to the accused. This prompted the management of the company to re-call the accused to explain

the accusations levelled against him. Inspector Annor said the accused could not give any tangible explanatio= n and was reported to the police and he admitted the offence in his statement.
