Businessman wins NPP Biakoye parliamentary primaries

Tapa Abotoase, May I, GNA – Mr Dan Korsinah, Accra-based businessman, on Saturday won the New Patriotic Party Biakoye constituency parliamentary primaries. Mr Korsina, who is also the current constituency chairman of the party, polled 466 votes to beat Ms Comfort Akua Atta, a teacher, who had 86 votes.

A ballot paper was rejected.

Ms Regina Ahmed, Electoral Officer in charge of the polls, said 597 delegates participated in the election. Ms Atta pledged her support for Mr Korsina to enable the NPP wrest the parliamentary seat from the National Democratic Congress in Election 2012.
