(Rejoinder) Let Mills Be Contested For The Ndc Slot – Uk, Ireland Ndc Branch

As Chairman of the UK & Ireland Chapter of the National Democratic Party (NDC), my attention has been drawn to an article by Asempa Radio published on myjoyonline (http://news.myjoyonline.com/politics/201104/64121.asp) purporting to be a statement issued by myself on behalf of the Chapter to the effect of the above.
In an interview with Asempa radio I did mention my beliefs in democratic processes and stated that the NDC, as a democratic party, would not deny any qualified individual from contesting as flagbearer. I went on to state categorically that since nominations has not commenced, it would be wrong for anybody to be disturbing the tranquillity of Ghanaians day-in day-out with the argument of whether it is healthy for anybody to contest the sitting President. I also stated my belief in continuity. All these statements were not made on behalf of the UK & Ireland Chapter.
Since the Chapter has an executive body and decisions are taken collectively, I couldn’t have gone out of my way to issue such statements on behalf of the Chapter and I believe the interview was to solicit my personal views.
In the light of the above I find your headline very divisive and plead that the UK & Ireland Chapter should not be brought into the limelight for the wrong reasons.
Finally, if any part of my interview had been misconstrued, then that was a harsh headline and must be corrected.
Horace Nii Ayi Ankrah
Chairman
(NDC UK & Ireland Chapter)
