Sekondi-Takoradi Metro records 7122 candidates for BECE

Takoradi, April 6, GNA 97 A total of 7122 candidates have been registered to write this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination, (BECE) scheduled for April 11 to 18, in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis.

Out of the number, 5477 candidates are from public schools while 1645 are from the private schools. The Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Education Service’s Public Relations officer, Mr. Ato Bruce, told the GNA in Takoradi that 2666 males and 2811 females are from the public schools while 286 males and 259 females are from the private schools. He said the candidates are from 94 public schools and 48 private schoo= ls.

Mr Bruce said 18 centres had been designated for the examinations with 245 invigilators, 18 supervisors and 28 assistant supervisors. He advised the candidates to desist from examination malpractices and learn hard to pass their examinations. He said anyone caught cheating would be dealt with swiftly according to the laws governing the examinations. 06 April 11
