Takoradi, Oct. 4, GNA – The Rt Rev Dr. Reginald Ofori-Twumasi, General Overseer of the Holy Fire Revival Ministries, has expressed his reservations over a disturbing trend in the country whereby young prophets overly decorate themselves with golden necklaces and huge expensive priesthood gowns.
The Rt Rev Ofori-Twumasi said priesthood was not a showpiece to exhibit one’s wealth but rather being truthful, honest, holy and practicing righteousness before God.
He was preaching at a Thanksgiving servic e in Takoradi at the weekend to round-up a week-long revival convention of the church. The Rt Rev Ofori-Twumasi appealed to Christians to be vigilant at all times since some pastors were greedy and selfish and collected monies from people for their selfish ends. He also spoke against some pastors for luring young women into sexual relations. The Deputy Western Regional Minister, Ms Betty Busumtwi-Sam, appealed to Christians to live exemplary lives worthy of emulation. She gave 1,000 Ghana cedis towards the construction of a temple.
