Police mount search for missing four-year girl

Ejura (Ash), July 20, GNA – The police at Ejura have mounted a massive search for a four-year old girl who went missing on Monday at about 1000 hours.

Suweba Adam, a pupil of the Ejura Mount Zion Preparatory school, is believed to have been abducted by two middle-aged men.

She was said to be in the company of her school mates, Nayima, 5, and Toffica Habibu, 7, when a green vehicle pulled up near them.

Two men came down from it, called the unsuspecting little girls and asked that they bought them some doughnuts. They gave out 90 Ghana Pesewas to the children for this.

They convinced Nayima and Habibu to allow Suweba to stay behind since she was younger.

The girls could not find some of the doughnuts and on their return there was no trace of either their friend or the strangers.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Henry Bacho, the District Police Commander, confirmed the incident to the Ghana News Agency and said they have launched investigations.

He said they were doing everything to unmask those behind her abduction and bring them to justice.

He advised that teachers should ensure that school children were always kept within the confines of the school during school contact hours.
