Tema, July 14, GNA – The Builders of Today Association (BOTA), a Tema-based non governmental organisation (NGO), has underscored the need to build an oil museum at Cape Three Points to assist in the drilling of Ghana’s oil.
Mr Nash Olynpio, Consultant to the NGO, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, said apart from promoting tourism, the museum would create employment for the youth in the area to improve their living standards.
He appealed to the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) and other oil producing companies in the country to pool resources and finance the construction of the museum at Cape Three Points.
Mr Olynpio, who is domiciled in Berlin, Germany, recounted that having travelled to oil producing countries like Norway, which has an oil museum, the construction of one in Ghana would further boost tourism.
He observed that Ghana’s new oil industry would require highly skilled personnel to man the operations on the oil rig.
For this reason, therefore, the NGO would collaborate with the Ghana Oil Drilling Academy and Consultancy to train Ghanaians to acquire the skills and the expertise in the various fields on the oil rig.
He said upon consultations with the traditional rulers of Cape Three Points, they have agreed to release land and mobilize the youth within the community as labour for the project.
