Methodist Church to support government to ensure food security

Koforidua, May 10, GNA – The Koforidua Diocese of the Methodist Chur= ch, is to embark on large scale farming to complement government’s efforts to=

achieve national food security.

This was contained in a communiqu=E9 issued by the church at the end= of its 31st Annual Synod, which ended on Sunday at Suhum in the Eastern Regi= on. The communiqu=E9 said the church would improve upon its infrastructu= re by building and improving on schools and investing in hostels and retreat centres to serve the mission and host communities. The church also decided to embark on Bible studies and evangelism an= d plant 20 churches in the diocese within a year. The communiqu=E9 appealed to the government, security forces and civ= il society groups to work together to ensure the stability of the country.
