Management of Zain present items to Muslims

Accra, Sept. 18, GNA – The management of Zain, a telecommunication company on Friday presented items worth GH¢15,000 to the National Chief Imam towards the celebration of Eid-Ul-Fitr. The items included 10 bags of rice, 10 gallons of cooking oil, 12 cartons of tomato paste and GH¢8,000 to the Salah Committee and GH¢5,000 to the Hajj Committee.

The Hajj Committee also received a special promotion “One Network” service to Muslim pilgrims to communicate with relatives and friends during the pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia at local rates. Presenting the items, Mrs. Carmen Bruce-Annan, Corporate Communication Internal and External Manager said the gesture was part of the company’s corporate social responsibility to ensure that the pilgrims enjoyed problem- free communication before, during and after the pilgrimage without roaming charges.

Mr. Philip Sowah, Country Manager of Zain said management had the development of art and culture in the country at heart and it was in recognition of this that the presentation was made towards the Eid-Ul-Fitr.

Alhaji Mamah Mohammed, Spokesperson for the National Chief Imam, thanked the management of Zain for the gesture.
