Room collapses on pregnant woman and kids

Yendi, Sept. 16, GNA – A room collapsed on a 37 year old pregnant woman Mrs. Sadia Musah and her two daughters Wednesday morning at Nayilifong, a suburb of Yendi in the Northern Region.

The children are 10-year-old Fatimata Musah, a primary two girl at Yendi primary school, and two-year-old Memunatu Musah. There were no casualties in the incident, but five-month pregnant Sadia is said to be in a critical condition.

They have all been admitted to the Yendi government hospital. According to the landlord of the house, Mallam Iddirisu Amadu, the incident occurred at about 8:30am when there was a heavy downpour in the Yendi Municipality.

Mallam Iddirisu said when the incident occurred they called their next-door neighbours to help them pull the woman and her daughters from the rubble. Mallam Iddirisu said because of the bad condition of the rooms in the house the tenants don’t sleep whenever it is raining, but unfortunately everyone was indoors at the time this particular incident occurred. 16 Sept 09
