Muslims pilgrims should co-operate with Hajj Committee- Alhaji Gado

Kumasi, Sept. 8, GNA – Muslims who would be making this year’s pilgrimage to Mecca (Hajj) have been advised to co-operate with the Hajj Committee to ensure a successful programme. Alhaji Gado Sulemana, a leading member of the National Democratic Congress, who made the call through the Ghana News Agency on Tuesday, said it would enable the members of the Committee to have a free hand to operate.

He said it was the prayer of Muslims that this year’s Hajj would be conducted in an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity to enable the pilgrims to return home safely to meet their families and relatives. He asked the pilgrims to exhibit mutual respect and comport themselves at all levels to ensure a successful Hajj. Alhaji Gado appealed to the Committee members to show brotherly love and care for the pilgrims and assist them without bad motives. “The situation where people slept in open spaces in preparation for the Hajj at the Airport and the Accra Sports Stadium must belong to the past,” he stressed.

Alhaji Gado commended Vice President John Dramani Mahama for his active involvement in this year’s Hajj and called on Muslims to use the Ramadan (Holy month of fast) to pray for accident-free Hajj. 08 Sept. 09
