Archbishop Akrofi urges Ghanaians to unite

Kumasi, August 17, GNA – The Most Reverend Dr. Justice Offei Akrofi, the Archbishop of the Anglican Church of the Province of West Africa,

has said no meaningful development could take place in an atmosphere of conflicts, chaos and instability. He has therefore stressed the need for Ghanaians to unite and show love to one another to ensure peace to enable them carry on with their activities

towards accelerated growth and development of the nation. Most Reverend Akrofi, who is also the Archbishop of Accra, was preaching at the Saint Cyprian’s Anglican Cathedral at the dedication of a Grotto

in Kumasi at the weekend. The Grotto, a Holy place of worship, was constructed by Major Joseph Alexander Cobbina (RTD), the former Chief Executive of the Kumasi

Metropolitan Assembly, to honour his late wife, Mrs. Gladys Cobbina, and Right Reverend Daniel Yinka Sarfo on the occasion of his 10th anniversary of

consecration. He said the increasing socio-economic difficulties facing the country were attributed to the fact that Ghanaians had forsaken God as their personal

saviour. Most Reverend Akrofi advised Ghanaians to be dedicated and committed to the worship of God to enable them receive Eternal lives. He expressed concern about increasing immorality among the youth especially in the quick acquisition of wealth by internet fraud “Sakawa” and

other negative practices. Right Reverend Yinka commended Major Cobbina and family for the gift and expressed the hope that the donation would help improve the spiritual

and physical growth of the church.
