Weekly endurance walks for Volta Police

Ho, Aug 2, GNA – Mr David Ampah-Benin, Volta Regional Police Commander has instituted a weekly endurance walk for police personnel at the regional directorate and other police units in Ho. He said the walk would contribute to the fitness level of police officers for their arduous tasks. Mr Ampah_Benin said this after leading about 60 officers on the maiden two-hour walk, under an early morning drizzle, along some streets in Ho.

The Commander said he was particularly concerned about middle-level officers losing vim, when they were the crucial component in the operational strategy of the police service. Mr Ampah-Benin cautioned armed robbers under siege in the Accra and Tema areas that the Volta Region, which is only a few minutes drive away, would not be home for them and that they would be overwhelmed by the police.
