Minister of Youth and Sports constructs library for his constituency

Kumasi, May 23, GNA-Work on an ultra-modern library complex for the Asawasi Constituency has begun in earnest, Alhaji Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak, Minister of Youth and Sports and Member of Parliament (MP) for the Constituency, has disclosed. He said the three-storey library was being funded by the GETFUND and MP’s Common Fund and that the project, located at Aboabo Number One, was at the foundation level.

Alhaji Mubarak, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), said the library project was necessitated by the fallen standards of education and the speaking of the English language among pupils and students in his constituency. “We have found it necessary to construct the library to help inculcate good reading habits and learning among the youth whilst ensuring their career development”, he said.

The Minister noted that it was high time Ghanaians took the library concept serious to help the growing youth have broad mind to understand national issues. 23 May 09
