Ghana Airways CEO Resigns

The CEO of Ghana Airway, Mr Emmanuel Quartey Jnr., Friday tendered in his resignation to the board of the airline. His resignation is expected to take effect from March 2001.

Mr Quartey assigned personal reasons to his resignation and refused to give any further comments on his action.

Meanwhile, Ghana Airways Thursday launched its new service route, Accra-Banjul-Baltimore-Washington DC at a ceremony at the Yumdum International Airport, Banjul, in the Gambia.

This follows a commercial agreement between Ghana Airways and the Gambia International Airlines to re-route Ghana Airways’ US flights through Banjul.

The new service also forms part of Ghana Airways’ strategy of developing additional gateways into Africa from the US.
