Quainoo re-elected presiding member of Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam Assembly

Ajumako (CR), Dec. 20, GNA – Mr Albert Ato Quainoo was on Friday re-elected Presiding Member of Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam District Assembly for a two-year term at its meeting at Ajumako. He polled 35 out of the 53 total votes cast to beat his opponent Mr Ato K. Mardin who had 16 votes in an election supervised by Mr Prosper Fiifi Bondzie Caiquo, Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam District Electoral Officer.

There were two rejected ballot papers. Mr Quainoo expressed appreciation to the members for the confidence reposed in him and promised to continue to cooperate with them to accelerate development in the district. He appealed to them to redouble their efforts at revenue mobilisation for the assembly to increase its revenue. Mr Kwesi Boakye-Enimil, Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam District Magistrate administered the oath of office to Mr Quainoo. Mr Ato Essuman, Central Regional representative on the Council of State commended the assembly members for their contribution towards development of the area and urged them to maintain the unity and cooperation. 20 Dec. 08
