Middle School leavers allegedly teach in Brong Ahafo

Sunyani(B/A), Oct. 29, GNA – Nana Kokomsa II, Abakomahene of Hani in Tain District of the Brong-Ahafo Region on Wednesday appealed to the Ghana Education Service to investigate and deal with teachers serving in the area who allegedly possess fake certificates.

Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Sunyani, the Chief stated that investigations and findings have revealed that most of the teachers allegedly possessed fake certificates and other documents and the phenomenon had persisted for the past two years. He said the practice had affected the standard of education in the area, especially in the performance of students in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

Nana Kokomsa alleged that some of the teachers were Middle School Leaving Certificate (MSLC) holders who had not obtained the requisite certificates as qualified teachers.
