Nana Akufo Addo Promises Factory for Each District

The flagbearer of the NPP, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has promised the establishment of at least one factory in each district under his presidency. He said the country must move away from selling its raw materials and start the process of adding value for adequate revenue for development. Nana Akufo Addo was addressing supporters of the NPP at Bechem, as part of his eight-day tour of the Brong-Ahafo Region. The flagbearer noted that it is to industrialise the country, and desist from selling its cocoa, timber, and other natural resources in their raw states, for meagre incomes.

He said the establishment of factories in the districts, would offer jobs for the teeming unemployed youth in the country, and help reduce poverty for rapid economic growth.

Nana Addo noted that the dream to industrialise the country, could be achieved with the effective engagement of the country’s artisans and technicians, who are well-resourced.

He revealed that the United Nations International Development Organisation (UNIDO) had instituted funds to support artisans and technicians. He urged the country’s artisans and technicians, as well as other private sector entrepreneurs, to take advantage of the UNIDO Funds and improve upon their works, to support the vision of industrialising the country.
