40 receive scholarship bursaries from NPCT

Accra, Oct 20, GNA – As part of its annual support, the National Partnership for Children’s Trust (NPCT), has awarded bursaries to 44 needy students covering the cost of their education. This year’s award saw the inclusion of 10 more students to the initial number of 34, which it (NPCT) supported annually. An amount of GHc8,500.00, representing an average of GHc193.00, was awarded to the beneficiaries.

Mr Roland Akosah, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of NPCT, who presented the bursaries to the beneficiaries in Accra on Wednesday, said NPCT would continue to support the beneficiaries, who are currently in basic and second cycle schools across the country, until they completed tertiary education.

Mr Akosah said NPCT believed that education was key to unlocking opportunities, the reason it intervened to support the students. He advised the beneficiaries to study hard to enable them pass their exams.

He also called on well-meaning individuals and organizations to contribute to the trust. NPCT, which works to increase social awareness on the right of the child, especially the right to basic education and protection from economic exploitation, is sponsored by HFC Bank and Ecobank Ghana Limited.
