3,309 candidates to write BECE in Afigya-Kwabre

A total of 3,309 candidates have registered to sit for this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the Afigya-Kwabre.

Mr. Ignatius Mwimbe-Ere Der, District Education Director, said they are made up of 1,692 boys and 1,617 girls.

Compared to last year’s figure of 3,057, there is a significant increase in the number of students the area is presenting for the examination which begins on Monday, June 16.

He said all is set for the examination and that he is not anticipating any problems.

Addressing head teachers, coordinators and other stakeholders, he asked them to work together to ensure the success of the BECE.

He reminded the invigilators to do everything to protect the integrity of the examination by seeing to it that the rules and regulation are strictly enforced.

Mr. Mwinbe-Ere Der told the school heads and parents to encourage the candidates to report promptly at the examination centres and warned that lateness will not be tolerated.
