3 robber rapist remanded

Three men, who allegedly robbed three little children of their three tins of Nido and a tin of Milo, have been incarcerated by an Accra Circuit court.

One of the men, Collins Takyi, allegedly defiled two of the children of ages 15 and 17, but the prosecution informed the court, presided over by his honour Ebenezer Osei Darko that the matter was still under investigations.

Collins Takyi and his two accomplices Emmanuel Kwasi Aidoo and Darlington Tamakloe were charged with two counts of conspiracy to commit crime and robbery.

They pleaded not guilty, and were remanded in police custody to assist police investigations. Collins had two additional charges of defilement and rape.

The prosecutor, DSP Reindorf Agyemang, informed the court that the complainant was Benjamin Nyanyo while the accused persons were residents of Adenta Housing Down.

The prosecutor narrated that on May 17, 2013 while the complainant and the family were asleep, the three accused persons went to the complainant’s house, and Collins forcibly broke into one of the rooms where the two girls were sleeping.

The other two accused persons hid behind the window of the house and provided cover for Collins.

Collins, who was armed with a pistol and a knife, allegedly attacked the two girls in the presence of their younger brother by pulling the pistol on them, and had sex in turns with them.

After the act, Collins reportedly stole three tins of Nido, a tin of Milo and some assorted drinks from the children and bolted.

DSP Agyemang said when the victims peeped through a window and saw Aidoo standing on the compound, they shouted for help, which made him take to his heels.

The prosecutor stated that the case was reported to the Police and Aidoo was arrested.

In the course of investigation, Aidoo reportedly mentioned Collins as the one who raped the girls while he (Aidoo) together with Tamakloe, were on the compound as lookouts.
