Zoomlion labourer jailed 10 years for defilement

Nkawie (Ash), April 21, GNA – A circuit court in Nkawie in the Ashanti Region, has sentenced James Ganyo, a 31-year-old labourer of Zoomlion Company Limited, to 10 years’ imprisonment for defiling a 14-year old pupil. Detective Sergeant Peasah Birinkorang told the court presided over by Mr. Jerome Noble Nkrumah, that on April 4 this year, Ganyo visited the home of the victim and realised that the girl’s mother had left the house for work. According to prosecution, Ganyo went into the bathroom in the house and asked a 4-year-old sister of the victim to call the victim for him. Sgt. Nkrumah said when the victim entered the bathroom Ganyo asked the victim to fondle with his genital organ but she refused. Prosecution said the accused spread his overall on the floor and forcibly had sex with the girl.
