Zongo Community motivated to donate blood

The Koforidua Regional Hospital Blood Bank has given out 5,000 units of blood from January to October but only 3,000 units of blood have been replaced.

Mr Phanuel Mordzifa, the Eastern Regional Blood Organiser, said this at a blood donation campaign organised by the Baamaiyi Sai Allah Fun lub, a youth group at Koforidua Zongo.

He, therefore, appealed to the youth to be voluntary blood donors to stock the blood bank to save lives.

Mr Rashid Bashiru, the Secretary of the Club, said it aimed at encouraging people in the Zongo communities to donate blood to save lives.

Alhaji Yussif Amudani Sulemana, the Eastern Regional Chief Imam, lauded the initiative of the fun club to ensure that people develop the interest to donate blood willingly.

The exercise attracted 23 donors, who gave 23 units of blood to the Koforidua Blood bank.
