Ho, July 23, GNA- About 1,200 young men and women on Monday stormed the Ho Sports Stadium to be recruited into the Ghana Armed Forces. As early as 0530 hours, the Stadium was full of expectant applicants short-listed for the Army, Navy and Air force with others lined up outside the locked gate.

Lieutenant Colonel Emmanuel Kotia, Commander of the 66 Artillery Regiment told the Ghana News Agency that the about 1026 males and 174 females short-listed applicants would be taken through body selection, basic medical screening, verification of certificates, ages, heights and general fitness.

He said successful applicants would further go through an aptitude test after which the final list would be known by Friday, July 27. When the GNA questioned people outside the gate why they were there, many who sought anonymity said they were not short-listed but were hopeful to be called up to replace people who were short-listed but failed to report.
