Yamfo Anglican SSS appeals to GETFUND for assistance

Yamfo (B/A), July 28, GNA – Mr George Kojo Abiw-Abaidoo, Headmaster of Yamfo Anglican Senior Secondary School (SSS), in the Tano District, has called on the administrator of the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFUND to come to the aid of the school.

Mr Abiw-Abaidoo, who made the appeal in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, said the deteriorating state of the school’s infrastructure was affecting academic work hence the need for the GETFUND, the Ministry of Education, non-governmental organisations and other stakeholders to intervene.

He expressed regret that since the inception of the GETFUND the school had not benefited from any assistance.

Mr Abiw-Abaidoo listed the problems of the school as lack of administration block, science laboratory, library, school furniture and a means of transport.

He said only 150 desks are available for a student population of 360, leading to congestion in the classrooms. The headmaster said a school library and an administration block started by the local community in 2002 have been abandoned for lack of funds.
