Yagbonwura is President of northern regional House of Chiefs

The overlord of the Gonja Traditional Kingdom, Yagbonwura Tuntumba Boresa I has been sworn in as the President of the northern regional House of Chiefs.

The election, which took place at a full house meeting in Tamale, saw Yagbonwura emerging as the automatic victor as he contested unopposed for the position.

Naa Mahama, after handing over the presidency of overlord of Gonjaland was also sworn into office as vice president unopposed.

Yagbonwura succeeds the paramount chief of the Mamprusi Traditional area, Naa Mahamai Sheriga Bohagu after his four-year tenure of office.
