Workshop on breast cancer organised in Sunyani

Sunyani, July 16, GNA- The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) in the Sunyani on Friday organized a one-day workshop on breast cancer for more than 400 female members in Sunyani.

Nana Kwaku Asante-Nketiah, Municipal Secretary of GNAT said the workshop was aimed at determining the general health of female teachers to enable them to perform their duties effectively.

He said breast cancer was the major disease among women and stressed the need to educate them on the cause, cure and its prevention.

In a demonstration to determine the functions of the Breast, Dr Frank Naku Gartey, a Chemical Pathologist at Mammocare, an NGO admonished the participants to help eliminate the disease in their communities.

He advised them to visit health centers for a check at least every month to determine the normal functions of their breasts.
