Work progresses on Atwea teachers’ housing project

Atwea (Ash), March 11, GNA – Work is steadily progressing on a six- unit=

teachers’ quarters being built at Atwea in the Sekyere Central district f= or the local Junior High School JHS.

The government is providing the funding for the GH¢85,000 project. The leaders of the community, including a former member of the Council o= f State, Mr Benjamin Asonaba-Dapaah, and the Unit Committee Chairman, Mr Kwabena Owusu on Wednesday inspected the project. It is expected to be ready by April this year. The remaining works involve painting, fixing of floor tiles and washrooms. Mr Asonaba-Dapaah said the completion of the project would ease the accommodation problem faced by teachers in the community. He appealed to contractors working on the 17.1 kilometre Oyoko-Nsuta roa= d to speed up work to bring some comfort to travelers. Mr Owusu said three bore-holes sunk for the community had broken down an= d appealed to the residents to pay their household rates to fix them.
