Women with elongated or artificial nails urged to remove them

Ho, March 18, GNA – Miss Angela Avudzivi, a Registration Assistant at the Methodist Primary School centre in Ho on Wednesday implored women with elongated and artificial nails to remove them before calling at the registration centres to register.

Miss Avudzivi gave the advice when some women who wore nail polish on their thumps resorted to scraping the paint off with blades being used by the registration officers to sharpen their pencils.

She explained that because of the danger of HIV/AIDS and other infectious diseases, it is not advisable that the women use same blade on their fingers.

Miss Avudzivi also advised the people registering to keep their registration slips in safe places and not to give them to anybody who would request them to do so.

She appealed to those who expressed disappointment at the non-availability of cameras for photographs to register and wait for their photographs to be taken at a later date when cameras become available.
