Women entrepreneurs donate to Psychiatric Hospital

The Network of Women Entrepreneurs, has donated items worth GH? 2,000 to the Accra Psychiatric Hospital to support the inmates.

The group, comprising fashion designers, dressmakers, caterers, hairdressers and sprayers, who came together to form the platform said, the gesture was part of their social responsibility activities.

The items donated were four: packets of disposable gloves, two boxes of Key soap, one box of Diapers, five sweeping brushes, two gallons of parazone, 16 packets of toilet rolls, two bags of Kleensoft detergents, dustbins, 10 brooms, two gallons of cooking oil.

Others included, used clothing, bags of rice and mosquito nets.

Mrs Gifty Ampomah-Darko, the Coordinator of the Network said that the association embarked on the initiative to help ensure that the inmates are properly taken care of.

Mr Emmanuel Papoe, Deputy Director of Nursing Services at the Hospital, expressed gratitude to the group for the gesture and added that more of such donations are needed to run the hospital effectively.

He appealed to the government to provide the hospital with the needed support to offset its bills.
