A middle aged woman, Comfort Asare has been butchered to death in her farm at Apeguso in the Asuogyaman District in the Eastern Region.
The deceased, popular known as Apata was found naked in a pool of blood on Sunday with her body lying supine, leaving eye witnesses to suspect that she was raped prior to her gruesome murder.
Speaking to Kasapa News, a former Assemblyman for Apeguso electoral area, Godwin Nyarko reported that the deceased’s hands were chopped off while her neck had a very deep cut at the time her body was found.
He said the unfortunate incident has thrown the entire Apeguso Township into a state of shock and has caused considerable fear and panic among the inhabitants.
Godwin Nyako stated that the police were called to the crime scene who subsequently conveyed the corpse to Akosombo Government hospital morgue.
The police have since launched investigations into the matter to ensure the perpetrators of the heinous crime are arrested.
