Wicked Step Mother In Prison Custody

Sunyani (Brong Ahafo), 10 Nov.,

Mrs.. Rosemary Quartey, a 28-year-old wife of a police constable who allegedly hit her step son with a hammer leading to his death at Sunyani last Thursday, was today remanded in prison custody till November 24. A Sunyani circuit court presided over by Mr. Erasmus Gyinae, ruled that Mrs. Quartey showed not put in a plea because no formal presentation of the case has been made to the court. Police Chief Inspector Eric Baidoo, asked the court to remand the suspect to enable the police to complete investigations. He said since the suspect is likely to face a murder charge, she should be remanded so that she does not interfere with investigations. Mrs. Quartey who lives with her husband, Constable Kwamina Quartey and three step children at the Sunyani police barracks, was arrested for allegedly hammering to death one of the children, five-year-old Master Nathaniel Kojo Quartey. Police had a tough time controlling the crowd that had gathered outside the court to catch a glimpse of Mrs. Quartey.
