We’re fit to wrestle power 2016 – NPP

The internal squabbles within the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) is the least to destruct the party from its focus ahead of the 2016 elections, officials of the NPP say.

Reacting to the fallout from Mr. Afoko’s suspension, Nana Akomea, the Director of Communications for the NPP said the party has not broken its front despite what seems to be the internal challenges within the elephant family.

He indicated that every unit within the party is active and working tirelessly towards the larger goal of winning power next year.

He disclosed that the party is on the verge of launching its campaign team for the 2016 elections next month, which he says is testament to the fact that the NPP is fit, contrary to the perception that it is losing its popularity as a result of its internal wrangling.

“The party is back, and everybody is happy-We’re together now,” the Director of Communications for the NPP, Nana Akomea emphasised in an interview with Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.3 FM.

Afoko had told journalists in Accra that he was heading to court, after he failed in his bid to overturn a National Executive Committee’s decision to suspend him indefinitely.

An official statement released by the party yesterday contended that the very issues Mr. Afoko raised were before the High Court in a case brought by three members of the party, hence party communicators must not waste their time responding to Afoko’s case.
