Wenchi (B/A), July 19, GNA – The Methodist Hospital at Wenchi in Brong Ahafo, has spent 277 million cedis on the construction of bungalows, renovation work on its old buildings and fencing, as well as the purchase of a pumping machine.

Mr B. C. K. Botwe, Deputy Chief Health Services Administrator for the hospital, who disclosed this in a report at a half-year operational meeting, commended the Asuogya branch of the Catholic Youth, Wenchi Women’s branch of Aglow International, Presbyterian Women’s Fellowship and Mr Addai Donkor, Director of Procurement and Supplies in Accra for their donations to the hospital.

He called on the Methodist Church, Government, Wenchi District Assembly and NGOs to assist the hospital, adding that, the financial position of the hospital was very weak, as the budgeted revenue for the period was not achieved. The hospital administrator explained that some clients failed to settle their bills.

Mr Botwe said the eye clinic unit at the hospital handled 827 out-patients and 1,673 school health cases, whilst the X-Ray Unit received 248 cases, during the period under review.
