Wee smoker and a seller appeared before court

Breman Asikuma (C/R), Sept 18, GNA – Adjoa Atta, a 70-year-old woman from Mbra, a suburb of Breman Asikuma, was on Friday remanded in police custody by a Breman Asikuma Magistrate’s court for processing India hem

She pleaded guilty and was asked by the court to re-appear before it on September 22.

Prosecuting, Police chief Inspector Gershon Awuyeh told the court that on September 7, the police arrested one Emmanuel Yarson, believed to be mentally disturbed, disturbing public peace at Breman Nkuntanase. He said when Yarson was searched one row of dried leave suspected to be Indian hemp was found on him and when questioned he mentioned Adjoa Atta as his source of supply.

Police searched Adjoa Atta’s house and found quantities of marijuana and 176,000.00 cedis.

The court ordered that Yarson be sent to the Ankaful Psychiatric hospital for check up and re-appear before the court on October 13.
