We will teach Bawumia the economics he doesn’t know – Veep

Vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur has rubbished the recent assessment of Ghana’s economy by former deputy governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, suggesting he doesn’t know anything about economics.

The former deputy governor, who is also the running mate for the New Patriotic Party on Thursday delivered a lecture in Accra in which he sought to rubbish the record of the John Mahama-led government, which he said has been wasteful.

But the vice president, who was a former governor of the Bank of Ghana, has hit back hard at Dr Bawumia who has been described by some as an astute economist.

“…You cannot come and say that interest payment has exceeded capital payment, therefore, we have made some mistakes, no!,” he told supporters of his party at the launch of NDC’s eastern zone campaign taskforce in Ashaiman Sunday.

“At the appropriate time, we shall respond in full measure to all the lies that have been told; at the appropriate time, we shall correct him and teach him the things that he doesn’t know but thinks he knows,” he told Dr Bawumia
