We underestimated Delta Force members – Police

The police administration has accepted it did a poor job to provide security to forestall the criminal act of Delta Force members in Kumasi on Thursday April 6, 2017.

The Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Ken Yeboah has rendered unqualified apology to the people on behalf of the command.

“First we accept we did not do well. My apologies to the public and the judiciary. We did not anticipate that. …It took us surprise” the regional command stated on Kumasi-based Nhyira FM.

Members of a vigilante group in the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) stormed a Circuit Court in Kumasi and forcibly freed their colleagues standing trial for assaulting the regional security coordinator Mr. George Agyei.

The group caused confusion after the trial judge ordered that all 13 suspects be remanded in prison custody until the next adjourned date which is April 20, 2017.

The police command has come under server criticism from the public for not being proactive to provide security at the premises of the court.

DCOP Ken Yeboah on Nhyira FM texpressed worrying and accepted his outfit did not work to expectations blaming himself for the unfortunate development.

“I blame myself first. I knew such thing could not happen so forgive me and my officers. It will never happen again”, he stated
