Wassa West District inaugurates projects

Anyinam (W/R), April 28, GNA – Three education facilities valued at 1.7 billion cedis have been inaugurated at separate ceremonies in the Wassa West district.

They are a block of three classrooms costing 197 million cedis at Anyinam, the Prestea market that was rehabilitated at a cost of 918 million cedis and the 629 million-cedi Anglican Primary School at Prestea.

Hajia Alima Mahama, the Minister of Women and Children’s Affairs and Mr Emmanuel Kwasi Ayensu, the Wassa West District Chief Executive, inaugurated the facilities.

Hajia Alima said with the introduction of the Capitation Grant, parents should compliment the efforts of the government by providing the school needs of their children.

She appealed to the chiefs and elders of the town to form a Parents/Teacher Association to help run the school. Nana Kwabena Danso II, chief of Anyinam, appealed Mr Ayensu to add three more classrooms to the primary school and later a junior secondary school.
